Does Kajo Chat upload my transcripts to a cloud model?
No. Retrieval and generation run on-device — there is no Kajo cloud model. Raw audio and transcript text never leave your machine.
How is this different from Gemini Notebook (NotebookLM)?
Gemini Notebook (formerly NotebookLM) is free and good — until the per-notebook source cap, the cloud, and audio as just another upload. Kajo is audio-native, local, and chat-ready in the app; Lifetime removes the import cap. Your sources never upload.
Is cited chat limited on Free?
Cited chat is part of the Free core loop. Free is capped by 5 files or 150 minutes of audio — total, for life, whichever comes first — not by a separate question meter. A single $49 purchase unlocks unlimited imports and Lifetime convenience (watch folders, batch export).
What happens when the archive cannot answer?
Chat says so — 'No supporting evidence in your sources' — instead of inventing a quote. Unverified quotes are dropped before you see them, and if the question is about a speaker nobody has named yet, Kajo asks you to name the speakers first.
