EU AI Act — Article 50 transparency statement
EU AI Act Self-Classification
Regulation (EU) 2024/1689 applies to AI systems placed on the EU market. Kajo Voice contains AI components that process voice input on the user's device. This page gives the transparency disclosures that apply to it.
Article 50 obligations apply from 2 August 2026
Classification: not high-risk
Kajo Voice is not high-risk under the EU AI Act: it is not a prohibited practice (Article 5) and does not fall under an Annex III high-risk use case. It turns audio you already have into text, summaries, and cited answers on your own device and makes no consequential decisions about anyone. Article 50 asks that people know when they are dealing with an AI system and that AI-generated text and audio be marked in a machine-readable way unless it is assistive editing of the user's own content. Kajo names every model in the app and on this site, presents every transcript, translation, summary, and chat answer as AI output you can review and edit, and generates no synthetic audio, image, or video.

Whisper transcribes audio on your Mac, Windows, or Linux machine. One on-device Gemma 4 model then translates, summarizes, and answers cited chat — no server-side inference for any of those paths. Model weights download on first use; your audio and transcripts never leave the device for processing.
Transcripts and summaries are stored only on the user's device. Kajo servers never receive transcript content — there is no cloud-processing path. Delete local library data in the Library UI; request account/billing deletion via privacy@kajovoice.com.
Engine and model details are documented on /what-runs-on-your-machine and in Settings → Models; library metadata records which ASR engine produced each transcript.
Transcription outputs are presented as editable text. The system never takes automated actions on behalf of the user without explicit confirmation. No consequential decisions are made automatically.
Transcripts and library data live on your device under your control. Delete library items any time from the Library UI. Per-file export is available on Free within the allowance; Lifetime unlocks batch export. For account-side documentation, contact privacy@kajovoice.com.
User rights under the EU AI Act
- Right to be informed: You are always notified when an AI system processes your input, including which on-device model is active. All processing runs locally on your machine.
- Local-only processing: There is no cloud processing to opt out of — transcription, translation, summaries, and chat all run on-device by construction. Kajo sends no audio-derived text to any cloud model.
- Right to correct AI output: Every AI-generated output (transcript, summary, chat answer) is presented as editable text. No output is acted upon without your explicit confirmation.
- Right to erasure: Delete transcripts and audio directly from the Kajo Library. Account and billing data deletion: email privacy@kajovoice.com (processed within 30 days).
